Guest Review for Unit 404 Comments:Kihei surfside aug 1st 2022 Experience: This VRBO was very accurately described and depicted. I would say it is everything they advertise. It's very clean and an excellent view from suite 404. The suite is very well appointed with enough pots and pans and dishes and snorkeling snorkeling and boogie boarding and even instead of golf clubs for your use you're used. There's some Beach shells and beach chairs as well, Parking was easy and we always had a spot. Our family had a great time and we would recommend this place to Anyone. William D. August 3, 2022 Comments:Beautiful View Experience:Amazing location, incredible views!!! Cute place, king bed and pullout sofa were perfect for our family of 3. The views and hearing the waves crashing onshore make this place really special. Larry’s place is comfortable, well stocked and the extra 1/2 bath made it a win traveling w our teenage daughter. Sunset BBQ dinners and the oceanfront pool makes this place SO much better than the upscale hotels and restaurants just down the road in Wailea. The Yoga Studio next door offered morning class on the beach - bonus! Kam 3 Beach is wide with the softest sand and fairly uncrowded. Beach chairs, cooler, snorkel gear and boogie boards plus lots of other games, and useful things to have on vacation were much appreciated. We’d love to book again, when we come back to Maui. The place is exactly as pictured. The view amazing. Loved hearing the waves crash all night, and the roosters in the morning. The grassy area outside is great to walk around and sit on the benches. Check out the bird feeder, some cool birds that look like they belong in a pet store. Sandy beach around the corner, wish we had more time there. Sharon G June 6, 2022 Comments:Perfect Location Experience: The location is perfect for those who want immediate access to the beach. Swimming and snorkeling are a few steps away. The view is nothing short of amazing. Some of the items in the unit felt old (chair cushions) or poor quality (bedding, pull out couch, rice cooker, etc.). Not a good spot for someone looking for a little luxury or a romantic spot. However, totally perfect if you are looking for a low key spot to cook your own meals while enjoying the beach. The beach next door was one of my favorite on the whole island. It is also far less busy than many other beaches, likely because it is not in town and does not have many hotels on it. It is lined with condos/ homes instead. Much of the beach is perfect sandy bottom but the one end has rocks and coral with some fair snorkeling. It is also very near to Wailea and the shopping / beach opportunities there. Oh, and did I mention the view!!! Nara S Aug 31, 2021 Comments:Great for us Experience: It was our first visit to Maui and we are really glad we took a friend’s advice and booked at Surfside. The condo had enough room for us (an adult family of four) and I was really glad our 20-something daughters had their own bathroom. It did get warm in the rooms at times since there’s no air conditioning, but opening the windows for the afternoon winds helped cool the rooms. We had no problem finding parking each day arriving at all hours. Roosters were a very early wake up alarm daily beginning around 4 am (the office offers earplugs for the noise- no joke). The condo did have extras like games, videos, and swim equipment. The shoreline in front of the building is lava stones, nice for exploring the tide pools but not for swimming . Had a great time. Terry A. Jul 15, 2021 Comments:We have been coming here for 30 years. Incredible value. Experience: We have stayed at this property at least a dozen times over the last 30 years. We appreciate the updated units as well as the recent building improvement (new windows). We love the view of the water and West Maui; every unit has this amazing vista. Gorgeous lawn becomes a gathering place not only for guests but for locals, too, to watch the sunset. The property has a very low key, causal vibe which may not be for everyone who wants more of a resort experience. The property to the south of the Kihei Surfside has a bit more action with a bar/restaurant, watersport rentals, yoga studio, and a beautiful beach with good snorkeling, This is just steps away. Our unit (404) was nicely updated had all the kitchen equipment necessary. The bathrooms did not feel recently updated but did not bother us. No AC. Only issue we had were the roosters crowing starting in the wee hours. Never experienced this before at this property. Management said they were trying to address this problem. Helen M. May 20, 2021 Comments:Amazing views, incredible beach, and a beautiful green lawn!!! Experience:We loved getting to stay at the Kihei surfside! The accommodations were excellent. The property as a whole is VERY clean. The view from this property is SPECTACULAR!!! Even though it's not facing the sunrise, the sun lighting up the mountain was gorgeous. The only issue we had at all (and it honestly wasn't a big deal, but I do feel like mentioning it would help others) was that we definitely booked our stay for 2 adults & 2 children and there was not bedding for the pull out couch. When I called the local point of contact she mentioned that we only registered for 2 people and when I went back and looked at the reservation it was definitely for 4. It would be helpful if bedding for the pull out to be just kept in a drawer. The property had everything we needed to have a great vacation. It was a great location to get to travel around the island BUT also if you wanted to just stay and chill at the resort it's totally set up for you to do that too. The other thing you should know is that the front bedroom is facing the parking lot and the window is not sound proof. Danielle P. Experience:This unit at Kihei Surfside exceed all of our expectations!!! The view walking into the condo was even more beautiful than the pictures for the listing! The staff was great! Everything was so easy! Unit was plenty cool at night with the breeze and windows open. Condo was well stocked. Best part about Kihei Surfside is having the beach right in your backyard!!! No need to pack up and drive somewhere with a the beautiful Keawakapu beach so close. And we loved watching the whales from our Lanai in the morning. We will definitely be back to this condo!!! June 5, 2019 Comments:Maui at Kihei Surfside Experience:Just spent a month in unit 404 and loved it. Beautiful view, 100 foot to ocean, listening to waves, and 100 yards to the beach. The unit is in great shape. The extra half bath allows for 4 people comfortably. The office was helpful. The BarBQ area is awesome. Never had trouble finding a parking spot for our two vehicles. Across a parking lot from the Mana Kai which charges almost twice as much. Lots of friendly Canadians. Definitely deserves 5 stars. William S. Experience:If you are considering booking this condo, do not hesitate! Book it now! My mother and I spent a week here and it was absolutely perfect. What this condo lacks in "luxury" amenities, it makes up for 10 times over in location and view. This unit has been recently remodeled and it was clearly done with considerable thought. The unit was very clean, the bed and linens were wonderful and the kitchen was well equipped and easy to cook in. The view was spectacular. We enjoyed the sunset every evening either from our balcony or the lawn below. The building itself has and extremely relaxed vibe. We met many guests who have come back to the same condo for years and Mom and I are seriously considering doing the same thing. As far as I was concerned this was the best place I have ever stayed in Maui. Right on the water, no roads to cross, close the many restaurants and shops in lively Kihei, but not too close to be noisy. Unit 404 had everything you could want and was furnished to a very high standard. And all for a price comparable to a small 2 star hotel room in Waikiki. In short if the idea of watching the sun set over the ocean from your lanai, going to sleep to the gentle sounds of waves lapping the shore and waking to a cacophony of birdsong appeals to you, this is the place for you. The unit was clean and well appointed except for a kettle which Barrie promptly provided when we called. Everything worked out perfectly including the Thanksgiving dinner that we booked. The food was outstanding and although the winds were strong we managed to enjoy a wonderful variety of dishes. Top marks to those that prepared in their units. We also enjoyed the 5 Palms restaurant with the sunset special which is hard to beat. Another great holiday with sun every day we were there. As we have seen all the sights we managed without a car thanks to good service with Roberts shuttle service. We did rent with our usual car rental Kihei Car Rentals to buy all our provisions for our stay for 1 day. Thanks again Larry and until the next time Aloha! Experience:We have stayed in several units at Kihei Surfside and this one was above average. The owners have recently remodeled and the kitchen, floors, and baths were quite nice. After arriving we had an issue with the internet and both Larry and Barry responded immediately. They were great to deal with and followed up to insure we were happy. Keawakapu beach is perfect for walks and 5 Palms restaurant is great. Would recommend this property as a relaxing spot for a Hawaiian vacation. Upon opening the door, you get a stunning view of the ocean, palm trees, and mountains - really tough to beat. The beach is a two minute walk - and yielded incredible snorkeling with a number of sea turtle sightings. The unit itself was recently refurbished and very nice and clean inside. It also had a number of nice little touches such as a lot of beach towels, a couple of body boards, snorkel gear, and some sand toys for the younger ones. Dealing with rosiesrentals was very easy, as was the management at Kihei Surfside. Highly recommend, and will definitely look to stay here again. Todd B. Experience: This was our 3rd time at Kihei Surfside and first time in Unit 404. This is a wonderful location right on the ocean. There are new sliders and screen doors on all the units. We love this place and will be back next year! It is so relaxing to be mesmerized by the sea...until the spell is broken by a spouting, breaching whale. Keawakapu Beach is a fantastic beach for strolling and swimming with decent snorkeling.
