Molokini snork el tour is worth doing! (we went with Molokini Snorkel Charters - very good).
Anthony E.

Fish tacos at Hula Grill in Whalers Village. IMU BBQ in Napili. Lapperts ice cream at Kamaole shopping center.
Dennis R. from Huntington Beach, CA

Don't waste your time lining up for the Kihei Cafe for breakfast - check our D-Lite fresh express - awesome fresh whol e food. As well - food truck Kinaole - Mahi plate lunch I had 2x was better than a sit down dinner at some of the fancy beachfront restaurants.

Go to five pallms next door. The half price apps at happy hour are great.....not to mention the nummy sushi and mai take....omg!
Donald and Anne H. from Highlands Ranch, CO

Go see Willie K. at Mulligans on the Blue. Try to reserve early to get a table inside to be right next to the action.
Stephane P.

Bistro 808 is a gem, Five Palms did not meet our expectations in service and quality. The General Store in Halii Mali is a great place for lunch.
Sandy & Curt D. from Sparks NV

momma's fish house is a must. its expensive, but food and atmosphere are one of a kind. Cafe O'lei in Kihei is a poor mans mommas. Willie K at mulligans is a must also. What a talent!
Anonymous Guest

Try Nalu's in the Azeka Center.
Bob & Bonnie J. from Sleepy Hollow, IL

5 Palms was excellent...we enjoyed a delicous dinner (though the service was a little slow) and went back for happy hour which we would recommend...great sushi and rolls!
Cheryl D. from Nanoose Bay, BC

Recommend using Concierge Connection for event/tour planning. For foodies, Morimotos was a special treat. Monkey Pod had daily happy hour pricing on select drink /food items.
A guest from Calgary, AB

Happy Hour next door is a simple dinner suggesston
Curtis A.

Paddle board rentals available across the parking lot for $35/2 hours; Sensei has great early bird Asian fusion specials; great lunch with awesome vistas at Gannon's
Pat & Monique M.

5 Palms has a fun little bar with great Happy Hour deals Come after 9 p for 1/2off sushi ( excellent) We also love Mulligans on the Blue ( Wailea ) While K is awesome , and always catch your sport in action Reasonable $$$ for food, limited basics Don't forgets Zacks for what you forget Good little deli too
Katie M. from Anchorage, AK

Mama's Fish House is always a favorite dinner spot of ours. We also enjoy going to Eskimo Candy Fish Market for lunch several times during our stay. Ululani's Shaved Ice, Wow Wow Lemonade, Coconuts Fish Tacos are some of our other local favorites.
Kim & Jon G. from Aurora, CO

Don't buy a swim with turtles package as you only need to jump in the ocean out front and you'll be doing it for free. On the other hand, the 8 line zip tour out of Kanapali was a thrill, a little pricy, but worth it. Also, the Old Lahaina Luau was delightful and the food was excellent as well as the service.
Liza K. from Sacramento, CA.

Helicopter ride over the island was fantastic. Just remember to pay the $5 parking fee, or it's a $35 ticket. We found that out the hard way.
Patti Y.

Whale watching, the lavender gardens, mamas, KIHEI cafe, just to name a few. You could be very, very busy while here, but with the Kihei SURFSIDE and ocean right there..... staying put isn't bad either
Chris & Michael M.

The new Mexican restaurant (Chilies? Red Chillies? is great.)
Jud ith & Rick M. from West Vancouver, BC

South Kihei Bike shop should have a rental agreement with KSS.
By Julie K.

Wareen and Annabelle show was excellent
By Robert W.

Bistro 808 was very good and reasonable (especially Sunset Menu). We had 2 good, but pricey, meals at 5 Palms. Sargentos was good, but very slow service. Pacific Whale Foundation whale-watching trip was very good.
By A guest from West Vancouver, BC

Taco Tuesdays at Moose McGillicudy's and Fred's is great.
By Ralph T.

We found that the early bird Sunset 3 course dinner at the Five Palms (next door to Kihei Surfside) was excellent and a good value. Happy hour at Longhi's in the Wailea Shops complex was great with excellent cocktails at happy hour prices. And, of course, Mama's Fish House is always excellent. We had a superb lunch there on our last day on Maui.
By Walter & Jane G. from Vancouver, BC

If you want dinner at 7:00 pm make a reservation. Coconuts has the best fish tacos and 808 Bistro is surprisingly good. Seafire has a great snorkelling trip to Molokini and the boat is walking distance from the Surfside
By Colleen & George H.

5 Palms...terrific happy hour; Taco Tuesday at Fred's Mexican Cantina. A drive into Lahania Town and eat at Kimo's is a must. Great food the best fresh fish and reasonably priced.
By Bill Standard & Terri V. from Tacoma, WA

Cafe O' Lei is one of the best on the island ! ! ! Enjoyed Mulligans and "Willie K" was, as usual, "GREAT" !!!!
By Bob & Cleo P. from Gladstone, OR

We ate most of our meals in the condo but we did enjoy happy hour along the board walk at the Whaler's Village in Ka'anapali.
By Brian and Chris M.

many people suggested we try Cafe Olei for.dinner. We did and had a great meal at a very good price.
By A guest from Shorewood, IL

Foodland is a fun place/local to shop for groceries, and 5 Palms a lovely place for an evening cocktail. Zack's has a good selection of beach, food, and cosmetic items.
By A guest from El Granada, CA

Please, Da Kitchen and try Shaka pizza. Weird to have pizza on Maui but the leftovers reheat GREAT on the BBQ pit. We're going to try it at home, too. If no South swell, snorkeling is great at Keawakapu and Ulua. All is good.
By Alta & Jim E. from San Bruno, CA

5 Palms next door (at Mana Kai) has fantastic food -- go for happy hour for half-price appetizers. Fat Daddy's has fantastic barbeque. Fat Cats in Lahaina has incredible burgers! Try the onion rings, too. Snorkeling at Molokini is a must. Go to Ka'anapoli for parasailing with UFO Parasail! Pacific Whale Foundation and Maui Ocean Center were great. Check out the beaches in Makena as well as Kamaole III. Be expected to pay more at grocery stores for sundries, though. Prefer Supermarket Times over Foodland; both are convenient, though.
By Patricia K. from Pittsburgh, PA

We never go to Maui without eating at Mama's Fish House -- it is fabulous both in terms of ambience and food quality. Very expensive and worth it. New this year for us, Capische? an elegant Italian restaurant on a hill behind Wailea. It is in a lovely, quiet resort with a fabulous sunset view (or romantic garden setting) -- definitely a special occasion restaurant. We loved it. Enjoyed the town party (or whatever it's called) on Friday nights in Makawao. Fun, lively, good music and food, great shops.
By Lin and Robert I.

Walk to Fred's for Mexican on Taco Tuesday, yummy pizza and salad at Flat Bread Pizza Company in Paia, Hula Grill in Kaanapali for sunset dining, sleep in and catch sunset on Haleakala
By A guest from Comox, BC

Pacific Whaling Foundation tours, good breakfast at Fred's, busy Kihei Cafe breakfast. If you go to the blow hole, do not continue driving in the mountain, turn around and go back towards Lahaina. Very dangerous single lane, narrow with no guardrails and windy road...
By A guest from Nanaimo, BC

Mama's Fish House, Kiehe Cafe
By A guest from Sammamsih, WA

Best Breakfast - Kihei Cafe (don't let the lineups deter you they move fast) Best Entertainment - Steve Craig (previously played John Lennon in the Fab Four show in Las Vegas for 10 Years) plays at Rita's Monday and Wednesday Best Pizza and Best Mai Tai - Tiki Lounge
By Dale O. from Edmonton, AB

Our favorite adventures included: The Maui Aquarium, the Marriott Lua, Sunday brunch at the Grand Wailea, Coconut's restaurant for fish tacos, and Happy Hour at Tommy Bahamas.
Anonymous Guest

A few new finds for us: Rather than pay for a group excursion, we rented our own boat from Sea Escapes who brought it to the Kihei boat ramp next door for launch. We enjoyed 3 hours on the water on our own. A little expensive for just the 2 of us, but fine for 2 couples. Fun exploring Molokini and Makena Beaches by ourselves. For those who love cinnamon rolls, worth a walk up the road a few blocks EARLY morning (open 5am)to the Cinnamon Roll Place.
By A guest from Danville, CA

We would recommend sunrise at Haleakala :)
By Sarah S. from Wixom, MI

1.Five Palms next door for a killer happy hour. Also good for breakfeast, luch and dinner. 2. Cafe O'lei. Great deals for lunch. 3. Antonio's for Italian food. Located in the back corner of Longs Center. Don't let the location put you off .Great food. Avoid Fred's Mexican. It used to be a favorite of ours but now very underwhelming. Avoid Rita's.Food and sevice the worst ever
By A guest from Trabuco Canyon, CA

Enjoyed breakfast at 5 Palms and took a drive out to Leoda's for lunch (fantastic!). Maui Tacos fish taco, is always a great, fast snack! And pupu hour at Tommy Bahama's is always delicious!
By A guest from Vancouver, BC

The 5 palm restaurant next door is fantastic. They have a great happy hour where you can enjoy drinks and food for a super price while watching the waves come in.
By Marcia E.

The road to Hana is a must even if a little scary we left early in the morning and had a great run a bit slower on the way back and a few close calls on the bends but it all adds to a wonderful day. We managed to have lunch at Thai food by Pranee in Hana which was some of the best Thai food outside of Thailand I've eaten a bit of a wait but worth it. Napili Bay is also lovely for the day especially in the morning get there early though there's not much parking. I loved the beach closest to the unit not too crowded, beautiful clear water and soft sand - paradise.
By A guest from Austrailia

Mama's Fish House and Nick's Fishmarket - well worth making the reservations
By Linda E. from Burnaby, BC

Mana Kai expensive. Lots of smaller places mid-town that are good. Threes Bar & Grill has a terrific happy hour with the best food we had.
By Ron T. from Calgary, AB

For ziplining, the Flying Hawaiian group is unbelievable! They run their trips out of the Maui Plantation, and are amazing. ALso, tell guests that rather than renting boogie boards and snorkel equipment, these can be bought for the same price as renting, and them can be left in the room for the next guests. We left a new boogie board, some snorkeling equipment, fins, soccer balls, etc in the room for the next group.
By John W. from Aptos, CA

Blue raft whale watching was great. Went to hear Makana and Willie K at Mulligans, both great shows. Favorite restaurant was Matteo's.
By Richard and Candy B.

Ali Nuii whale watching tour was incredible! Felt like kings and queen!
By Stephanie C. from Wenatchee, WA

We have always enjoyed the Five Palms and their Happy Hour menu and drinks. One of the best Mai Ti on the Island!
By Mike and Karen N. from Walla, Walla WA

We love 808 Bistro and Cuatro. Both are BYOB and the Foodland near by has great wine prices. Also, we always try to grab lunch at Lahina Pizza Co. Get there around 11:45 for a sweet view.
By Dave P. from Santa Rosa, CA

A must do is a drive to the summit of Haleakala volcano. We did not do the sunrise trip (too early) but we spent an afternoon driving up and enjoying this national treasure. We always drive to Hana for the exceptional landscape and of course the banana bread. Take the time to know the island and it's culture. This island is truly paradise.
By Ron K. from Calgary, AB

Fabiani's on Lipoa makes delicious quiche and baked goods. Preorder a whole quiche for a real treat. Cyclists should know that riding Upcountry from Kula (park around mile 14) past the winery towards Kaupo is recommended; very little traffic, new smooth pavement and a few degrees cooler than at sea level. Riding the windward side of West Maui to Julia's for banana bread is a nice ride. The best bike ride is from/to Hana but the second best is to park at Twin Falls (or the rest area at mile 12) and ride to Hana and back. Much more fun than driving the road. Join the Kihei Public Library for $10. The two good Farmer Markets are on Kihei Road; one at the corner where you turn for the Library, and the second one if further north just before the junction to cross the island. Also Lees Orchard between the two markets has the best mangoes. Snorkelling at the neighbouring beach is highly recommended.
By A guest from Kaslo, BC

We wondered over to the Tiki Lounge, near Foodland, at about 4PM one day. The outdoor patio boasted of great music, good beer and food at happy hour prices. A surprising find. Went out on a Boss Frog whale watching boat from Maalea Harbor and traveled with a pod for over and hour. Thought they'd go right under the boat for awhile. Got tickets over at the Mana Kai activities desk, and the cost couldn't be beat. Always go out on the Pacific Whaling Foundation boat, but this was as good a trip as have every found there, with lots fewer people.
By Brenda P. from Santa Cruz, CA

Five Palms (Convenient, next door) Gannon's Red Bar Happy Hour (Great value 3:00PM til closing) Sansei for Sunday and Monday 50% off early bird discounts Nick's Fish Market (Good food and service; expensive!) Great upcountry restaurant: The General Store
By Walter & Jane G. from Vancouver, BC

Went to the Warren and Annabelle show in Lahaina and thoroughly enjoyed it
By A guest from Surrey, BC

Loved the 5 palms.
By Tricia & Tom S. from Comox, BC

Pita paradise 5 Palms for lunch or dinner
Anonymous Guest

The only tip I could say is that I didn't need to spend $90 on a snorkelling tour, I brought my own equipment (they have some snorkelling gear in the unit) and went on the beach in front of the unit to see fish, coral reef and swam up close to several turtles!
By Dale L.

I recommend the Atlantis sub tour and Pacific Whale Foundation snorkel cruise for a relaxing and fish filled experience at a great price.
By Bill B. from El Cajon, CA

Walking distance to Sorrento's (or something like it) Italian restaurant 2 hotels down.
By A guest from Tigard, OR

veg. market Tues. and Sat a bit north of Foodland on west side is really good fruit & veg.
Anonymous Guest

Recommend the sunset sail with pick-up at our condo, a beautiful relaxing evening. We used Lonely Planet's Maui book as well as the App: Maui Top 10 as out guides. Had an amazing dinner at Cafe O'Lei, great breakfast at the Kihei Cafe to name just a couple good eateries.
By A guest from Langley, BC

The French crepes at Sarentos for breakfast were delicious and you must go to Cafe O Lei and have one of their Passion Fruit Mai Tais and if you like Italian then go to Antonios which is in same mall as Longs Drugs.
By Richard and Sharon R. from Nanaimo, BC

You must go to Maui Tacos for fish tacos. Yummmmmmm!
By Donna C. from Auburn, CA

Ululani's had amazing shaved ice! Coconuts resturant has the best fish tacos and they are huge. Eskimo candy had good fresh seafood and Cuatro had very good dinner but its pricey. Cuatro was our favorite place and is a cozy little place great for a date.
Anonymous Guest

We had a late lunch (4:30 ish) at the Kula Lodge one day. The view was great, the service was warm and friendly and the food delicious. We would highly recommend it. Even a visit for desert and coffee would be great. We loved the feature desert (pineapple upside down cake) and banana cream pie. Yummy! We took the Full Day Ultimate Lanai Snorkel from Slip 17 with the company called Ultimate Whale Watch. It was fabulous. They use a zodiac so there is no bathroom (other than the Pacific Ocean!) but they can cover a lot of distance on the zodiac with two high power motors. We followed a group of spotted dolphins and watched them frolic in the waves created by the boat. We spotted a group of bottle nose dolphins and enjoyed 3 great snorkelling spots, especially the last one that they called Buddha's Point. The reef there was spectacular. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and speeding along in the zodiac was as good as any Disney ride. Definitely recommend this for those who love adventure! For a casual dinner or great for take out to watch the sunset from the lanai, we highly recommend Coconut's Fish Cafe at 1279 S Kihei Road.
By Simone & Graham S. from Kelowna, BC

Maybe have a list of restaurants, take out places in the unit.
By A guest from Jacksonville, FL

Toured most of the island by car and enjoyed visiting the volcano, Hana Rd., and several parks. However, we'd especially recommend the little visited Makena State Park and beaches where you can hike along the volcanic fallout and view lava formations. Also check out the interactive maui-maps.com. Great a resource, which we didn't discover until after we left.
By A guest from Federal Way, WA

Would recommend cafe olea.
Anonymous Guest

the 5 palm was great. the sorento was outstanding.

Helicopter tour with Air Maui was just the best, sunset cruise with Trilogy also great. Coconut's Fish Cafe - best fish tacos we have ever tasted. Road trip to Hana fun - don't miss Sand and Surf in Piau for gifts.
By Jeanne C. from Edmonds, WA

if you plan on booking a luau at the Royal Hawaiian do not book the upgrade. Wait until night of show and go to hotel directly to book the upgrade portion and you will save money.
By Kathy K.

I highly recommend a dinner at Nick's Fishmarket in Wailea for an exquisite dinner in a beautiful setting. For more casual dining, I highly recommend Coconut's Cafe for fish tacos, fish 'n' chips and salads. A lunch favourite is 808 deli for $8 salads & sandwiches.
By Kelly B. from Vancouver, BC

We didn't have to travel for miles by car to get to two exceptional restaurants, right next door. Eating yards from the beach from breakfast to dinner, sunsets were dessert! Saw a completely different Maui at the Iao Needle and our trip to the top of Haleakala was above the clouds at the summit...never experienced that outside a plane. Sun, Sea, Sky, this place has it all in abundance.
By Barb Mickelson

Try anything, it's all good.
By Debi B. from Maple Ridge, BC

Five Palms, next door.. Sorrento's on the beach..Gannons at the Emerald golf course .Makenna golf club restaurant..Pacific "O" on the beach in Lahaina!!! great at sunset..and finally...Amazing ,Mama's Fish Shack ..we went there on the way home to the airport as a final memory of our trip to Mauii..then on to the airport 15 mins..and then home to reality!

Sarento's On the Beach...walk conveniently to the Restaurant, have a sunset dinner, excellent food and service and photographer will take picture of you and produce for you before you leave. Nice touch!!

The Pacific Whale Foundation cruise was great for July 4th fireworks. Best happy hour pizza and beer at Monkeypod. Best happy hour crab cakes and coconut prawns at Three.
By A guest from Walnut Creek, CA

don't go to the 5 palms their prices have gone up a bunch and the service has dropped don't waste the time and money.

The road to Hana tour is a must! Go the extra mile and get the Mercedes Benze Limo! You wont regret a minuite of the trip if you are lucky enought to get Lopaka ! The tour to book is on the weekend with Ohana tours. Our favorite was restaurants was Freds! Make sure to rent a stand up paddle board. Even if you can't stay upright for long the board works great on your knee's. Great exersize and a ton of fun!
By Sherry L. from Calgary, AB

make sure you go to the beach down the path at the end of the grass. It's about a 5 min walk well worth it.

Sorrento's is a great choice for evening dining!

Fish special Cafe Olei for lunch,Pita paradise any time,Lelanis fish tacos.
By A guest from Parker, CO

Highlight to our trip was the DOORS OFF Helicopter tour done by AlexAir. We did private charter for 45 mins and it was AMAZING! Also, check out Aloha Mixed Plate in downtown Lahaiana. Food is wonderful and cheap. It is next door to the Old Lahaiana Luau which we also recommend. Make sure to spend time on the beach next door too. It is great.
By Lynn & Kirk J. from Mountain House, CA

The Monkeypod (Wailea) happy hour is...VERY happy - superb drinks and food at great prices, and nearby.
By Mike S. from Solano Beach, CA

Best bang for your buck....Stella Blues, Moose McGillicuddys, and Beach Bums Bar and Grill (Maalea).

Sorento's on the Beach was excellent! 5 Palms restaurant was also quite good and close. We found renting equipment at the 5 Palms next door to be easy and fast. We tried the stand up paddle boards for an hour. We golfed at Wialea. Lots of restaurants and shopping are nearby! Loved it!
By Judith & Phillip G. from Danville, CA

5 Palms is great for dinner or happy hour. Fred's and Kihei Cafe are great for breakfast. Kimo's in Lahaina is nice for lunch. Sansei has good sushi. Don't miss the cinnamon roll place below Denny's!!

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a at the Grand Wailea Resort is an awesome restaurant for familes/children.
By A guest from North Vancouver, BC

Kihei Cafe for the BEST macadamia nut cinnamon rolls on the planet, but get there early! In addition, we ate our way through Maui No Ka Oi magazines "Best of" and the following are definitely worth seeking out: Cafe' O' Lei in Kihei, Star Noodle in Lahaina, Maui Coffee Roasters, Mama's Fish House, Paia Fish Mkt restaurant, Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop, Capische? and our latest find the Maalea General Store across from the coast guard station by the Maui Ocean Center.
By Carl & Nancy A.

Walk toward the beach, turn left on the path along the parking lot and in five minutes you are at The 5 Palms. Great food and service. If you feel like spending more on a meal and getting more wait staff than you ever dreamed of, go past The 5 Palms and enter the little back gate of Sarento's. Sarento's has gourmet food and knocks their socks off to serve you. If you just want simple breakfast, Denny's is only a 5 minute drive away and packs the deals with calories, or you can get the heart healthy plates.
By A guest from Friday Harbor, WA

Mama's Fish House - Expensive but worth every penny!
